Cricket Australia venue upgrade readiness consultancy - Sydney Cricket Ground and Adelaide Oval

In the lead up to the Australian 2013/2014 Ashes cricket series, Cricket Australia engaged EPG to conduct readiness assessments of the Sydney Cricket Ground and the Adelaide Oval. These venues were near practical completion milestones for major capital upgrade works prior to the Ashes series taking place. EPG was tasked with supporting Cricket Australia in conducting formal review sessions with venue operators and construction teams to ascertain if the venue infrastructure s would be deliveredready on time for both infrastructure and meet the operational requirements operationally.

EPG’s approach to this project was to work alongside the existing venue teams to review program documentation, attend project meetings, conduct site evaluations and provide an independent review of where the project was tracking against the delivery program.

The major project deliverable to Cricket Australia was the development of a Gap Analysis report that identified areas of the project program and venue readiness that presented significant risk to the client of not being delivered on time.

The report included a construction readiness evaluation as well as a review of the operational readiness of the venue team and operations particularly in the new areas of the respective stadium development. EPG also suggested multiple contingency scenarios and mitigation measures for the client for consideration should they be required.
